PDQ's built-in 'standard estimating' model returns sustainable market prices for hundreds of printed products using production-route based 'intelligent' estimating logic. Printers: get ultra-quick, accurate 'real-time' production-based estimates (not price lists or templates) and at the end of 60 days you can optionally upgrade and have your own equipment built in for comparison against the standard model. Print managers and print buyers: get an accurate market price for your printed products and strengthen your knowledge and buying position. A real education as PDQ provides methods of working, paper usage and production costs for all parts of the manufacturing process over multiple production routes, promoting standardisation and best practice. Used by the likes of Eclipse Colour, Alderson Print Group and Abstract Group.
“What can I say about PDQ? Well, it has revolutionised our business and on that basis we can’t recommend it – we’d like to keep it all to ourselves!” Russell Roberts – Stonehouse Press

PrintWeek 11th March 2010 IPEX press release: Haybrooke Associates will launch a JDF-enabled version of its intelligent estimating package, PDQ, at Ipex, to improve the software's integration with MIS. The company said the software allows printers to cut the costs of in-house estimating by allowing customers to enter their own job specifications, such as quantities and production processes. Managing director John Roche said: "JDF means files flow seamlessly from the buyer, through PDQ into the printer's MIS." He added that the software's route-based estimates offered printers an answer to the "double-whammy" of demands for faster quote turnaround times and falling conversion rates from quotes to jobs. "PDQ vastly increases the number of quotes processed," said Roche. "If you keep the same conversion rate you will win more work. However as prices fall, conversion rates fall and if, for example, conversion rates halve, you need to double the number of quotes just to stand still. That's a fact of the market. PDQ offers the way out."
